LM5175-Q1: LM5175 CCM and DCM mode

Part Number: LM5175-Q1

Hi,

Vin(min)=6V Vin(max)=28V Vout=12V@7A; Ta=25 deg

we designed a circuit suitable for the above conditions, but the temperature in the inductor at the output was too high. To solve this, we pulled the mode pin on the ground and it seems that the problem has been fixed. Since we are currently in the testing phase, there is no load and it draws very little current. Is this normal? Because when we placed a 93.1 kΩ resistor on the mode pin, the current drawn from the system was much more. can you give an opinion on this?
