TPS43060: C12（100pF)

I have a question about the typical Application 9.2.1 Synchronous Boost Converter in the TPS43061 data sheet.
Could you tell me below thing about C12?
1, the purpose of C12 (100pF)
2, possible failure if C12 is not implemented

thank you for using the E2E forum.

The purpose of C12 is to filter high frequency noise from the current sense input to the TPS43060.

If not implemented and there is too high noise picked up from the current sense signal the regulation loop could get disturbances and showing reduced performance or even unexpected behavior.

Could you tell me what expected reduction of performance and unexpected behabior would happen as exampe?

this can not be easily predicted as this depends on

- input and output conditions (Voltage / Current)

- layout

- external components.

What can happen is e.g. higher output voltage ripple and worst case loss of control if the signal is too noise.
