UCC28051: Can UCC28051 be used for SEPIC converter?

Hello guys,

One of my customers has a lot of UCC28051 as their inventory.

They want to design a SEPIC converter (Vin=55V~110V, 50/60Hz, Vo=61V/130mA) using UCC28051.
Can UCC28051 be used for the SEPIC converter?

Hi Kazuya,

I took a look at all the reference designs and PMPs with this part number, and I just could find PFC Boost converters and Flybacks power supplies, which this is part is intended to be used for. Please, see attached reference design part numbers.

I would say yes, you can use this part number for a SEPIC (boost converter with an extra inductor), but please take into account that there is no reference design which you can guide your design. Let me know if you have any further questions.
