BQ25306: Could you please suggest battery management IC? with 3/4A charging current 5 led indicators

Unfortunately, TI does not have a standalone charger with 5 LED indicators nor a charger with CCx lines to interface directly with Type C Adapter.

BQ24170 buck only family with integrated FETs provides up to 4A.  BQ24610 buck controller with external FETs provides up to 10A.  Both require input voltage to be higher than battery termination voltage.

The only 3A charger with D+/D- is a 1S charger, BQ25616.

BQ25616 is a 1S only charger.  Most of our integrated FET chargers have 3A max input current limit.  I don't understand how a BC 1.2 adapter providing only 5V and 1.5A max output current can provide 15W+.  Below are the closest fits I can find:

BQ25886 2S boost charger with max input of 6V and max charge current of 2.5A.

BQ24170/1/2 + BQ24392 USB BC 1.2 chip that drives FETs with resistor to control charger input current limit per ACSET pin

Hi Karlariya,

USB Type C requires a USB C communication chip or port controller.  Those chips require a microcontroller or processor.  The only solution we have for this is below:

The FB pin resistors set the battery regulation voltage.  See below:

Note that BQ24171 is a buck only charger so its input voltage must be > 8.4V 2S battery voltage.
