TPS40210-Q1: DCM mode TPS40210 IC flyback converter loop gain transfer function

Hi Olivier,

thank you for supporting the TPS40210.

The tool you have attached has not been designed for the TPS40210.

We do have an Calculator for the TPS40210 Flyback in CCM mode only (can be found on the product page).

And with the global rule that if it is stable in CCM mode it well be also stable in DCM mode, you can check on that.

Best option of course would be to measure the transfer function on the real hardware to get all parasitics.

Stefan, Would we have a equation or a model ? my customer would need to be able to justify stability " mathematically". thanks

If customer is interested in additional design resources for loop compensation, there is a small application section within the TPS40210 datasheet.
Additionally, we have an application note for a similar device (LM5155) going deeper on loop compensation.
