BQ24100: Battery Charger IC Grounding

Dear Forum Members,

I am currently designing a board for a battery charger using the BQ24100 Charger IC. I would like to know if it is recommended to connect PGND and Earth directly. Please let me know.

    Hi Neeraj,

    You typically don't connect to earth ground.  We recommend a PGND for the high value, switching current paths and then an analog GND (AGND) for the dc, noise sensitive components.  PGND and AGND must be connected together at the IC power pad.
