The BQ297 series cell protection ICs proves UV, OV, OC protection to batteries.
My question is, can this part be used to provide the same protections AND reverse connection protection for a rechargeable lithium ion coin cell battery? I ask about reverse connection protection because this circuit cannot be integrated into the cell itself. The DS also contains the following:
An RC filter is required on the BAT for noise, and enables the device to operate during sharp negative transients. The 330-Ω resistor also limits the current during a reverse connection on the system.
If it cannot, can you please recommend an alternative solution?
