LM25141-Q1: undershoot

Part Number: LM25141-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5141

Why LM5141 EVM demb model, undershoot is larger?

  • Hi Cassius,

As mentioned earlier, (1) the COMP voltage in diode emulation mode is much lower than FPWM, and (2) the switching frequency is much lower. During a load-on transient, the COMP voltage has further to increase, meaning a higher Vout peak deviation. This is typical behavior of any controller coming out of light-load mode operation, hence the option to select DEMB or FPWM.
