Half bridge driver with low-side disable

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51604, UCC27222

Do you have a half-bridge driver with the facility to disable the lower FET automatically if its drain voltage is above zero, so that it can make a Synchronous buck go into discontinuous mode at low current?

  • Hi Ian,

Some of the lower voltage buck drivers have a feature like this. One is the TPS283X family, another is UCC27222, and TPS51604.

In terms of drain sensing in general, its more common on these low-voltage devices. It is harder to implement on higher voltage half-bridges  like our >100V drivers.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
