Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2557, TPS2557DRBEVM-423
Could you pls help check whether TPS2554 have passed UL IEC 62368?
The same for TPS2557.

Hello Fabio,
Yes, both devices passed the UL IEC 62368-1 standard.
Here is the Certificate of Compliance docs for the TPS2554 and TPS2557:

The customer want to use TPS2557 in the 0.5A and 3A condition.
But the maximum R is187k.
Have you ever tested higher resistance to set the limit at 0.5A?
Whether it will affect the stability?
Fabio,
I personally have not tested this.
But as the datasheet states, using a 187k resistor with 1% tolerance will ensure stability.

The customer value this 0.5A parameter very much.
Could you pls help to confirm this? It will be used in a docking project. (2~3 port 1.5M/Port )
Hello Fabio,
Noted. I will work on this and shoot to share my results by the end of the week.

Hello Fabio,
I've tried soldering a 187k resistor w 1% tolerance on a TPS2557DRBEVM-423.
I should mention, an 0602 187k resistor was assembled on the 0805 footprint to program the current-limit as I wasn't able to find an 0805 comp.
The scope shot below was taken with this test setup, and it shows that the internal regulation loop was fairly stable, but the current was not limited to exactly 500mA, but ~630mA.
Using the three formulas from Equation 1 of the datasheet:
So the current was limited 53mA above the nominal.
Additionally, the Recommended Operating Condition states that the max R_ILIM value should not exceed 187k, so I would not test with anything higher.
Hope this helps,
Seong
