BQ24074: Safe USB-C Input protection, PTC & TVS diode

Part Number: BQ24074
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVS1401

Hi,

I've used the BQ24074 and I'd be grateful if someone could take a look at my schematic to see if there's anything that looks incorrect.

I've read the documentation available on the product page but I cannot see a guide which shows how best to hook this up to a USB-C port to esure adequate input transient voltage protection

My schematic looks like this at the moment,

I also want to be resiliant to faulty USB power supplies that have higher than expected voltages and lack current limiting. So I've used a PTC with 100A transient rating ahead of the TVS1401. It's based on an example in a Littelfuse USB design guide. I believe this provides adequate transient voltage surge protection and will also cut the input if the voltage is too high or inverted.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Kind regards,

-Jason
