BQ25790: HIZ mode function check

If I put EN_HIZ = 1, and enter HIZ mode, how about the mode of these converter switches. Are they all shut down and the voltage on Vbus and Pmid are 0V?

Hi Evan,

HiZ mode is intended to for use when VBUS has a voltage applied (which means there will be a voltage on PMID). Hi HiZ mode (like when no VBUS is applied), the buck and boost switches are off and the BATFET between BAT and SYS is on.

Thanks for your answer.

When the charger is in OTG mode, how can I stop reverse power transfer. According to your answer, I can enable HIZ mode to stop power transfer, and I can also set EN_OTG to 0 to disable OTG mode. Which method is preferable?

Hi Evan,

EN_HIZ=0 shuts down more internal circuits so recovering from HiZ (setting EN_HIZ back to 0) likely takes longer than setting EN_OTG back to 1.
