LM25148-Q1: Application issues of chips

Part Number: LM25148-Q1

What is the specific range of current induced resistance values? Can 3mohm be the value of Rs?Can you provide a detailed explanation of the following calculation formula?

  • Hi Tonyx,

The current sense resistor sets the peak inductor current limit.

3mΩ can be used as current resistor, because the current sense threshold is 60mV, this will set a 60mV/3mΩ = 20A peak inductor current limit.

You need to make sure your parts can tolerate 20A, mainly the inductor saturation current, MOSFET losses and the current sense resistor power dissipation (20A)^2*3mΩ = 1.2W.

It is best to size your current sense resistor for the required output current.

    Hope this helps.
