BQ24032A: bq24032A calculator

Part Number: BQ24032A

Hello dear TI,

I'm using the bq24032A in my project, and I've noticed different behaviors between boards. Do you have a tool or calculator for determining resistors and capacitors values?

I've come across a similar issue on the forum: BQ24032A: No Charging with AC Input - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums.

When I fully discharge a battery down to 2.8 V and then charge it using an AC adapter with a 5V@3A output, some of the devices reach Vbat ~= 3.14 V and do not get higher.

The load is about 400 mA.

The measurements I get are:

Vin = 4.9 V

Vout = 4.38 V

Vdppm = 3.8 V

Vset1 = 0 V

Vtmr = 0.757 V

Here is the IC's schematic:

Furthermore, the calculated current is approximately 1.41 A, but in reality, it's closer to 1.2 A.

Do you have any ideas?

BR Regards, Genadi.

  • Hi Genadi,

    Can you explain what exactly is not increasing when you say:

    some of the devices reach Vbat ~= 3.14 V and do not get higher.

    Is it the charge current that you are referring to that is not increasing or the battery voltage?

    Do you have a tool or calculator for determining resistors and capacitors values?

    At this moment, we do not.

    I will take a look at the schematic but wanted to check with you prior to see what the voltages at the STAT pins are when you are seeing your described behavior?

    Best Regards,

    Anthony Pham
