LP2985: Replacement for LP2985-10DBVR

Part Number: LP2985

Hello, i am Niko electical engineer at Kronoterm.

I used LP2985-10DBVR in my PCB design because i have 2 supply voltages (5V and 12V) and i need 10V output.
When i tested PCBs i figured out that output of LP2985-10DBVR is 5V not 10V. I checked datasheet and i find out that old chip had 10V output, and new one has 5V.

Is there pin to pin replacment for LP2985-10DBVR, that  i could use on my PCB?

Best regards, Niko Ivezić

  • Hey Niko,

The LP2985-10DBVR should be regulating at 10V. If you are able to send a schematic, I could review this.

Since the LP2985-10DBVR is life-time buy, the best alternative to regulate 10V is going to be the TPS7A2401DBVR, it has the same pin out except that it is adjustable and will require external resistors to set 10V output. Other than that, these would be considered pin to pin. It also has a NO connect or NC pin instead of the BYPASS, but a capacitor connection on the NC won't change functionality.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,

    McKyla
