UCC5870-Q1: Power loss evaluation for LV side

Hi TI expert,

We would like to evaluate the total power loss of UCC5870-Q1, the excel tool we have it for HV driving path power loss.

But we need to know the VCC1/VREG1/VCC2/VREG2 power loss as well.

May we know how to evaluate this part?

Datasheet only provide the Iq based on non-switching condition.

Could you guide us on how to leverage the datasheet and get the info we need?

    Hi Chia,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    VCC1 current does not very notably due to PWM and switching. Additionally, the regulator rails are included in the VCC1 and VCC2 consumption so they are already taken into account in the quiescent current.

    Based on this, you can calculate the power of the primary side as 7.7mA*VCC1, and secondary side as 15mA*VCC2, plus the switching current.
