BQ51013B-Q1: CLAMP1 and CLAMP2 are short-circuited to ground.

The customer design with BQ51013B-Q1, Please refer to the following schematic and help check it.

1. PIN5 and PIN16 are short-circuited to ground, and the failure rate is about 0.1%.

2, Please help check whether there is any problem with the schematic design. They have tried connecting 10Ω resistors in series between pins 5 and 16, but the effect is not good.

3, In order to eliminate possible input high-voltage pulses, They tried parallel TVS, but the effect was not very good.

Hi Star

A short on Clamp 1 and Clamp 2 is indicating an over voltage condition on the input.

The circuit looks OK

Couple of things:

1.) Send data sheet on the coil for review

2.) Check voltage rating on capacitors on AC side, should be min of 25V.

3.) When does the fail occur?

Moving the RX from a weak coupling position to a good position will cause a voltage spike on input and possible damage.
