TPS61094: Bi directional question

Part Number: TPS61094

Hi team,

Customer got some question on the bi-direction feature.

Does the bi-direction mean only under the bypass mode, and the current can flow from Vin to Vout or Vout to Vin, right?

And other modes, force buck, auto buck or boost are only uni-directional right?

Could you please help share why coming out this bypass path/bi-directional?

  • Hi Oliver,

The bi-directional is not like what you said. It means it can discharge the super cap from SUP to VOUT, to power for loads when the power source at VIN is not present, and can also charge the super cap from VIN-VOUT to SUP when the power source at VIN is present.

What is your application and what is the requirement?

    Regards,

    Nathan
