Hi,

I`m trying to start working with the battery fuel gauge and I have some questions:

this is my hardware and I'm connected to the device via EV2400:

1. I can't get accurate current readings from bqstudio, I'm drawing 2000ma with a constant load, and in the bqstudio I'm reading -1452mA.

at the calibration screen, I only have voltage calibration.



2. I'm trying to perform a relax-discharge-relax test but after discharge, I get power loss (battery cut off) and can't read from the IC.

how the test can be done if I need to discharge the battery and still get communication with the device?

my final goal is to make a golden file for my battery with the IC.

    R1 = 0.01,

    I pass 2000mA, and read 1452mA.

    Hi Kfir,

    Regarding the difference in current, calibrating the board offset could be beneficial to getting these to equal what the input current is. The instructions can be found below from the bq27441EVM User's Guide:

    Regarding the current being read by the gauge being negative, below is the schematic for the bq27441EVM. Can you go more into depth about what J1 is being connected to and if it is the right orientation?

    Hi Anthony, 

    I change the gain calibration to 0.332 and the current reading was working fine,

    But know I'm trying to do a learning cycles and every time after couple of hours i get error "Error: [RUP_DIS / RDIS: Not Clear]".

    Im very confused about the steps needed to be done before i can implement the device in my setup.

    Hi Kfir,

    Can you tell me more about where this error is occurring in the learning cycle? The RUP_DIS is supposed to be set before the initial discharge of the battery, and cleared after the OCV measurements are taken during the relax period after the discharge.

    First, I tried to do it automatically, 

    I connected EV2400 vout4 to one relay that connect a load of 0.8A, and vout1 to a charger.

    In automatic mode after discharge to 3100mV, the process doesn't continue and remains in the discharge state forever.

    So I tried manual mode, and after discharge, I manually disconnected the load and the step advanced to relax for 6 hours, after a couple of hours the error popup and the process stopped.

    Hi Kfir,

    The test will need to be conducted again, however before the test, the Start Log will need to be pressed so the values can be tracked.

    Also, if possible, if the configuration file can be exported before and after the test has been ran, this would also be a help to us:

    Ok,

    I tried it in auto mode and still failed,

    I uploaded the logs, 
    Log.log - Main log file

    Log of Learning cycle .txt - The log from the "Learning Cycle"

    Config before.gg.csv - the config file.

    in the folder I have about 287 Config files that were made automatically, do you need them?
