TPS61372: Voltage Ripple Calculation

Hello,

How can I calculate TPS61372's input/output voltage ripples from input/output capacitance values?

The "TPS61372 Quickstart Tool" (SLVRBF6) can calculate minimum input capacitance from input voltage ripple spec in the "Step 4: Input Capacitor" and minimum output capacitance from output voltage ripple spec in the "Step 3: Output Capacitor." Therefore, I guess there are equations for the reverse calculation.

    Hi Shinichi,

    For the output capacitance calculation, it is written on the datasheet.

    For the input side, it is assumed that all current ripple is absorbed by capacitor. 

    the formular is Cin=dIL*Ts/(4*Vripple), it can be easily derived by capacitor charging charge.
