UCC21530-Q1: ucc21530-q1 with Enable PIn shows less voltage?

Part Number: UCC21530-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21551

The VCC and the Enable PIN are provided with 5v. Please find the picture below. Why the enable pin shows less voltage of around 2.6V? Is there any reason for this?

Please find the picture.

  • Hi Suresh,

EN is supposed to be a high-Z input. Is the device damaged? Maybe see if replacing the device fixes the problem. A damaged ESD diode could draw excessive current and cause 2.4V drop across the 50m resistor. Is this resistor 50 milliOhms or Mega ohms? Maybe short it out it the latter.

Also, please use the updated version, the UCC21551. It is a much improved device.

    Best regards,

    Sean
