[FAQ] TPSM8D6C24: TPSM8D6C24/TPSM8D6B24/TPSM8S6C24 Using design tool

Part Number: TPSM8D6C24
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM8S6C24, TPSM8D6B24, , TPS546D24A

Hi,

TI built powerful excel design tool for TPS546x24A devices. The design tool is in the link as below.

SLURB01 Calculation tool | TI.com

This design tool is intended to provide assistant during schematic development, component selection and design review for TPS546x24A devices. The design tool provides the accurate estimation for input/output ripple, undershoot/overshoot of load transient, loop stability with crossover frequency/phase margin/gain margin, also visualized bode plot. More importantly, the design tool can offer component selection for pinstrap and optimize the loop compensation configuration for NVM setting. This design tool makes the design process simple and intuitive.

For dual-phase module TPSM8D6C24/TPSM8D6B24 and single-phase module TPSM8S6C24, TI strongly recommend use same design tool to expedite the design process. However, the design precaution should be considered when using this design tool for modules.

1. Because above three modules use TPS546D24A as a converter, the Device Part Number must select TPS546D24A for TPSM8D6C24/TPSM8D6B24/TPSM8S6C24 devices as below.

2. TPSM8D6C24 and TPSM8S6C24 use 0.22uH as an internal inductor. The inductor selection must be 0.22uH as below.

3. TPSM8D6B24 uses 0.47uH as an internal inductor. The inductor selection must be 0.47uH as below.

Thanks,

Nancy
