LMG3612: casing and hard swiching oprating

Part Number: LMG3612
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28951

Hello,

Could you provide mechanical dimensions details of the VQFN case?

On page 15/25 of the online datasheet, it-is mentionned :  The LMG3612 GaN power FETs are intended to be turned on in either zero-voltage switching (ZVS) or discontinuous-conduction mode (DCM) switching conditions.

Can it operate in CCM?

We are currently designing a phase shift converter using the UCC28951. Input voltage 380V. Output : 12V-200W.

It can't always operate un ZVS mode. Is the LMG3612 switable for our application?

regards,

Arnaud MONTEZIN

  • Hi Arnaud,

Thanks for your interest in LMG3612.

Regarding the dimensions, the device is 5.3mm by 8mm. We are working to update our datasheet to include the official epod drawing with all the detailed dimensions; there was an issue we encountered in publishing it and it should be fixed soon.  Please see the attached images which will be added onto the datasheet soon:

Please allow us some time to address your question on the CCM operation, we should have an answer by tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

    Best Regards,

    John

  • Hello Arnaud,

John is current out of office, however I am also an applications engineer on his team and would be happy to support.

In regards to CCM operation in your question, it would be better to reach out through email to discuss this topic, I will send you one shortly.

    Thanks,

    Zach
