Hello Team,

We plan to use the charger IC BQ25173 for one of our applications.
Our requirements include a wireless supercapacitor charger also.
Can anyone please suggest a wireless supercapacitor charger IC?

    The BQ51013B wireless power receiver can be used to power the BQ25173.

    The design would be similar to BQ51013B-Q1 + BQ25171-Q1 in Wireless Power Solutions for Battery Chargers.

    Can we use the BQ25173 charger for Li-Ion Batteries also?
    We have both Li-Ion battery and super cap in our system and we need to check the performance of each to be finalized for our end product.
    Can you suggest a linear/buck mode charger that is capable of charging both the Li-Ion battery and the Supercapacitor?
    The proposed charger will be connected to the output of the wireless charger BQ51003YFPR.

    We have seen some charger ICs like BQ24130 that are capable of charging both Li-Ion batteries and Supercapacitors.
    The proposed charger must be RC configurable we don't have any MCU to drive the I2C or SMBUS in the charger in the system.

    The device will not be using any power when it is charging, so power muxing is not mandatory in the system.

    Bill J  -- Sorry but NO, the BQ25173 is only for super capacitors and should not be used with Li-Ion.Batteries.

    Bill J - You would be looking for a device that could automatically detect SC or Li or would the board be built (BOM change) to support SC or Li?

    We need both a Li-Ion battery and a Supercapacitor in our system.
    So if there is a single-chip solution for SC and Li, that will improve our BoM cost.

    Sorry do not have a single linear charger that will charge both. 

    BUT the BQ25173 (SC) and BQ25170 (Li) have same footprint and almost the same pin out.  A design that would allow you to support both devices may be an option.

    The output of the same is to power a Li-Ion battery or a supercapacitor via BQ25173.
    LTC4124 is such a device that can take both wireless and DC power.

    The LTac4124 from AD is a battery charger and we don't need to add an extra battery charger to charge the Li ion battery.

    While we want to use a battery charger in the output stage of BQ51013B

    We have a wireless power to battery charger IC, BQ51050B / 51B / 52B.

    But in customers design they want to charger battery and SC.  The BQ51013B can be the same on both designs and only change out charger section.

    Note the charger part is same footprint, same PCB could support both with minor external BOM changes.

    The IC LTac4124 from AD has both wireless and UCB inputs and we can charge the same battery using any of the inputs.
    But BQ51050B can charge the battery only from wireless means it will enable or disable the USB charger.
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    If SC is not considered, do TI have any solution like LTac4124 ?

    Sorry but no.  

    Do not have a single IC with Wireless Charging or USB input with direct battery charge.
