TPS2116: Connection on TPS2116

Hi,

I have 3 questions.  Could you please advise us?

*1.

My customer considers using TPS2116DRLR with the following connection.

  • Mode pin : connect with VIN1 pin  (Manual Mode)
  • VIN1 pin : 3.3V Power
  • VIN2 pin : 1.8V Power
  • PRI1 pin : connect with GPO on MCU.
  • ST pin : 10kohm Pull-down (Do not use it)

 If you have any concerns, please let us know.

If ST pin does not used, which does TI recommend 10kohm pull-down or NC?  Please let us know.

 

*3.

What value of both input capacitors and output capacitors does TI recommend ?

1uF capacitors??  Please advise us.

    Hi Hattori-san,

    1. No concerns.

    2. ST can be connected directly to GND or NC, either is ok. NC is recommended for smallest solution size/lowest price.

    3. What is the load current, and what types of sources provide VIN1 and VIN2? This will determine good capacitance values.
