TPS552892: Is there any Vout when the IC is not enabled?

Part Number: TPS552892

If the IC is not enabled is there any DC output?

Some DC-DCs previously used still produce an output which is a voltage drop relative to Vin when in the "off" state.

In other words the enable stopped the switching but Vout did not go to zero.

What happens with the TPS552892 and similar TI ICs?

  • Hi LL,

What you meant is the Boost converter without disconnect function, the Vout will be (Vin-Vdiode), the Vdiode is the forward voltage drop of the internal high-side MOSFET.

But if you see Buck-Boost converters, there will not be output voltage when IC is not enabled because of the direction of the body diode of internal MOSFETs.

    BRs,
