Hi. Is it possible to connect external 12V power supply at the VOUT pin when VIN=0V and EN=OFF. VIN and External 12V will not be applied simultaneously. I would like to know if there are any concerns.
Best regards.
Hi Keita,
May I know what is the product type and application here?
It's ok with external 12V at Vout when EN=0, the device is shutdown.
Regards,
Bryce
Hi Bryce,
Thanks for the answer. We are designing a power supply with two inputs for industrial application, one for unregulated 12-24V input, the other is for regulated 12V (external 12V in the above diagram).
Best regards,
Hi Keita,
Thanks for feedback. Understood, so the 12V-24V input to TPS552892 is something like backup power supply? Only when external 12V supply is not valid, then TPS552892 can be enabled; if external 12V is already, then TPS552892 is disabled, right?
Regards,
Bryce
We are currently not considering this as a backup power supply. This is more like an optional feature to power from unregulated power supply.
