BQ25710: BQ25710

Part Number: BQ25710

Hi Team,

I am using inspired energy NH2034 SMbus battery.
Inspired Energy N-Series Batteries (inspired-energy.com)

It acts as SMbus master and request battery charging current() ,Charging votlage() to charger/host  via SMBus.Inthis case shall i use BQ25710 without Host MCU?

  • Hi Saravanan,

It depends completely on what you want to accomplish by the host. If all you want by a host is to program charge current/voltage and the battery is capable of performing that then there is no need for host MCU. If you want other other functions to be performed by the host and the battery is not capable of performing that then you do need a host MCU. It would be advisable to experiment with a prototype or with an EVM first to check if the battery can completely replace a host MCU for your usecase.

    Best Regards,
