LMR16006Y-Q1: Feedback pin leakage current? or what is the limit for RFBT and RFBL resistors?

Part Number: LMR16006Y-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR16006, LMR51610, LM5164-Q1, LMR36503-Q1

Hi,

I would like to use the LMR16006Y-Q1 for IBB application.

VIN = +12V, VOUT = -24V.

What is the leakage current of the Feedback pin?

What is the maximum reccomended RFBT and RFBB?

Regards,

Yossi

  • Hi Yossi

The IFB_leakage is not seen in the LMR16006 datasheet. The external feedback divider values can be calculated the same way as for a buck. Normally no larger than 1M.

What is the end equipment and the application needs here? Is the automotive grade needed? Would you consider LMR51610 , It is synchronous, 65V, 0.6A Buck converter. IFB_leakage=0.2nA.

    Thanks and best regards.

  • Hi Gui He,

    Thanks for your reply.

The application is automotive. A Maximum of 50mA.

I used the LM5164-Q1 in the first prototype and it worked fine but I would like to have a smaller solution at approximately the same efficiency, and the LMR16006 provide good results in simulation.

I  don't want to lose power on the voltage divider, so I think of using RFBT as 250K and RFBB accordingly.

  • Hi Yossi

Well noted. You can also take a look at our newer devices LMR36503-Q1, and LMR38010-Q1

    BR.

  • Hi Gui He,

I adjusted the LMR36503-Q1 simulation design to match my design requirements and it doesn't work well.

For some reason the FB voltage is change if I change the divider resistors for setting the VOUT. It shouldn't behave like that.

Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for your support. I'll continue the work with the LMR16006Y-Q1.

    Regards,

    Yossi
