TPS62875-Q1: TPS6287x Power calculation tool inquire

Part Number: TPS62875-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62873-Q1,

Hello sir,

Do you have below power calculation tools (such as excel or other format)? If yes, could you share to us, I would like to use them to evaluate power design as for reference?

  1. TPS62873-Q1
  2. TPS62875-Q1

BR.

Cynthia

  • Hi Cynthia,

We have Webench available for both products on ti.com which can give power dissipation value with external components selection according to your operating condition.

Let me know if you need further help.

    Best regards,

  • hello Tanvee,

    thanks for your kind reply.

I check the WEBENCH, there is a question that i can't find TPS62873Y1-Q1 part. WEBENCH only have TPS62873QWRXSRQ1, but the voltage is not correct. This part number is from J721S2 PDN-7F power solution. We wish output is 0.8V. Could you give me some help?

  • Hi,

You can TPS62873-q1 webench design for power calculations. TPS62873Y1-q1 shares same design architecture, only difference is the I2C address.

    Best regards,

    Tanvee

  • I used Webench to design TPS628731-Q1 before, when I select TPS628731-Q1, the tool show part number is TPS62873QWRXSRQ1, output can’t key 0.8V, it will have an error, and the part number is not I wished, you can also try it by yourself. That’s the reason I’m confused using Webench tool.

TPS62873QWRXSRQ1 and TPS62873Y1QWRXSRQ1 are the same I2C address 0x43, the difference is in voltage level, TPS62873QWRXSRQ1 is 1.0V, TPS62873Y1QWRXSRQ1 is 0.8V which we needed.

If where i understand incorrect, please let me know.

  • Hi Cynthia,

My apology,  tool is in crashing. I will follow up there.

Meanwhile I will share excel sheet that can help you to calculate the components according to your operating condition.

    Thanks,

    Tanvee

  • Hello Tanvee,

Do you know how to calculate gain and phase margin of TPS62875-Q1 and TPS62873Y1-Q1? There is no description in the datasheet. I would like to check the loop response steady, but WEBEBCH without simulation configuration that can be checked. And do you have tool to simulate these two BUCK gain and phase margin, that can share to me?

  • Hi Cynthia,

We have SIMPLIS models available for both devices which are accurate to get the GM, PM according to your BOM selection and operating conditions.

    Can you check the model?

    Thanks,

    Tanvee

  • Hello Tanvee,

Your colleague replied to me, this tool i have no license to use, so only your company can help us to simulate using it. So, he helps to simulate using SIMPLIS tool, now I am learning that.

  • Hi Cynthia,

Thanks! I will close the thread. Let me know if you need further help.

    Best regards,

    Tanvee
