TIDA-010239: TIDA-010239 PP_ADC

Part Number: TIDA-010239
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV1805, ADC122S051

Helllo everyone

I have two question related to  TIDA-010239 ;

1.  for the CP control output : does the PE  ( ground) and the 0V volt of the analoge circuit (  0v  for opamps ) connected together?

2. the PP_CP is not clear ; please could you  explain it ?  why the tw resistors ( 150  and 330 ohms ) then a bypass mosfet .

3. PP_ADC  what should we read from here ?  is it pulled up in the  car side ?  if not how does it work ?

Thank you in advanced

Hector

  • Hey Hector!

    1. I believe you're referring to TLV1805 here, and if so then yes the PE is connected to V- of the TLV. If there is a diferrent part you're talking about could you tell me the part number or designator?
    2./3. Here the PP and CP are two different lines. The PP is proximity pilot and it uses the 150/330 ohm resistors to bring the voltage ( received from the car) down to within input voltage range of the ADC (ADC122S051). The Mosfet is used to change the resistance here to allow us to accommodate different vehicles' resistances on the car side of this input. I've included a link here that shows a diagram to show what is happening on this line more in depth. https://www.rfwireless-world.com/Terminology/SAE-J1772-Plug-Pin-diagram-and-J1772-Signaling-circuit.html

    The PP part of this design is in the process of being updated, as we received some feedback from a customer. I also wanted to let you know, but the concept still remains.

  • Hello GAvin

    But that is for type 1 connectors ; right?

    For type-2 it should not be like this ? could you confirm please ?

    Thank you
