TLV759P: Circuit to change output voltage

Part Number: TLV759P

Hi team,

My customer wants to use below circuit to change & configure the output voltage of TLV759P.

As shown in the picture, customer plans to use three FB resistors in series, and use a separate MOSFET to bypass one resistor when needed, to change the output voltage of TLV759P.

Questions:

  1. Would this circuit work correctly? Please let me know if any possible issues or concerns.
  2. When turning on the MOSFET to change the output voltage of TLV759P, how long would it take from the resistor is bypassed to the output voltage came to the new value?

Thank you very much!

  • Hello,

This is a method for changing the output voltage dynamically. It can work. Please be sure to factor in the RDS(ON) of the MOSFET into your resistor network.

Once the FET is closed, the feedback voltage will change and the loop will compensate until VFB = 0.55V. This will be similar to a transient response (either line or load). You'll have to test it to determine the response time since it will be dependent on how fast the FET closes.
