UCD3138: UCD3138,TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio,USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022)

we used USB-TO-GPIO (2006) adapter to monitor UCD3138's digital power,

but now  we buy a new adapter USB-TO-GPIO (2022) ,we use the software TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.42,

the PC could not find the adapter USB-TO-GPIO (2022) ,

so we download the newest verison 

Fusion Digital Power Studio 3.0.77 (zip)  — 12814 K

the adapter can be found,but the Fusion Digital Power Studio  encounter  an error:

so why the new adapter USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022)  could not be used for UCD3138 digital power?

we use the old version adapter USB-TO-GPIO (2006),no matter we use TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.42

or TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.77(the newest version on the website of TI),there is no error.

what's more, how can I download the historical version of  TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio(which may support USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022) adapter ) at TI's website to have a try?

    I have a summary of your problem below, please make sure it is correct.

    You are testing with two UCD3138 GPIO adapters and two Fusion Digital Power Studio versions:

    • USB-TO-GPIO (2006)
    • USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022)
      • "No USB Adapter Found!" with TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.42 Negative squared cross mark
      • Application fatal error with TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.77 Negative squared cross mark

    Do you have multiple USB-TO-GPIO2 adapters and do they all have the same problem? Also, when you plug in the USB-TO-GPIO2 adapters, does the green light turn on? You may have a defective adapter. For v3.0.77, Fusion Digital Power Studio may have tried to send an update to your adapter and crashed because the adapter was broken.

    Currently, only TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.77 is available on ti.com. We do not have older versions publicly available.

    Hi Jonathan Wong,

    We have bought 2 USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022)，they have the same problem,

    the green light turn on,I use UCD3xxx Device GUI could find the device information.

    But only the TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio encounters the error,I could not open the monitor GUI.

    This is a strange problem. Is the UCD3xxx Device GUI also v3.0.77 or is it the v3.0.42? Also, have you tried using the Fusion Studio with the offline version? As mentioned above, the online version may be trying to update your adapter and then crashing.

    Hi Jonathan Wong,

    I could confirm that the version  v3.0.42  has been uninstalled,and then I use v3.0.77.

    So UCD3xxx Device GUI is v3.0.77.

    I didn't use the Fusion Studio with the offline version,in my mind,the offline could not monitor the digital power module,is that right?

    The problem mentioned above,the difference is that:

    USB-TO-GPIO2 (2022) with v3.0.77 encounters the error as the picture showing above;

    USB-TO-GPIO (2006) with v3.0.77  works normally;

    While the Offline version will not monitor the digital power module, I want to know if you can open it. If the Offline version does not work, then your problem is with the software and not the adapter.

    Here is a link to the older Fusion GUI: http://software-dl.ti.com/digital_power/fusion/TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Studio-3.0.42.exe. Although, we recommend using the latest version of the GUI.
