BQ25898D: OTG function unnormal

Part Number: BQ25898D

Hi Tier

My customer use BQ25898D got a unnormal situation.

When I plug in the adapter and then unplug it, the battery will supply abnormal reverse power to maintain the voltage at 4.4V, but my OTG pin has been pulled low, and OTG-config=0 in the software, at this time the QON pin The level keeps switching high and low.

We found two abnormal products. Their phenomena are consistent. The OTG function is not turned on, but the battery seems to be discharged. However, the status of the QON pin is different and may remain low.

Could you help me find the reason why OTG function unnormal.

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Tony,

Thank you for reaching out via E2E. Can you help to clarify a couple parts of the description? Is the 4.4V observed at VBUS and what is VBAT during the test?

Additionally, can you please have customer provide a waveform capture of the behavior showing VBUS,PMID,QON, and BAT pin voltages?

I do not believe the device is in OTG mode at the time of the behavior because OTG mode minimum voltage is 4.55V.

    Best Regards,
