LP8868X-Q1: LP8868X-q1 no parts available yet, simulation model?

Part Number: LP8868X-Q1

Hi,

i see this LP8868X-Q1 device is new, so parts not available. i have an application with the following spec, buck boost topology..

input voltage 5v - 7.2v, varying, as its derived from an excellent TI battery charger part - can discuss outside public forum.

driving 2, or if possible, 3 series connected leds, 2.9-3.1V forward drop each, @ current up to 2.8A.

Analog dimming is required - the reason is to avoid large input current fluctuations caused by PWM dimming, which would adversly affect the TI charger power source's operation.

There are several figures given for maximum current, in the LP8868X-Q1 datasheet, for the internal switching FET. 5.2A on page 1, 6Amps on page 3, 5.8Amps on page 26.

Im trying to figure out if this LP8868X-Q1 is anyway near a possible to an exitisting Maxim LED driver.

I need to move away from the current Controller and external FETS circuitry (MAX16833) which is too expensive in $ and PCB space.

To that effect, can you provide some simulation model, or guidance on the internat FET limitations for this load?
