TPS7A02: About EN behavior

Part Number: TPS7A02

Hello,

I would like to ask you a question about TPS7A02.
I'm currently checking the behavior of EN and output voltage.
The waveform is shown below.
In the waveform, OUT was output when the EN voltage was 0.8V.
VEN(HI) in the datasheet is a minimum of 1.1V.
So, if you have any information about the following, please let me know.

1.Actual value and variation of EN release voltage.
2.Time required to disconnect pull-down resistor from EN release.

Best regards,

  • Hey Kaji,

I am looking into variation on VEN and will get back to you.

For the pull-down resistor, are you asking about the active discharge or the smart enable resistor.

    Best,

    Juliette

  • Thank you for your reply.
I will wait for information from you.
Regarding my second question, it shows smart enable resistor.
    Best regards,

  • We guarantee that if Enable is > 1.1V, that the LDO will be on. The actual turn-on point is below the 1.1V.

The LDO is guaranteed to be disabled for enable < 0.3V. The turn-on region is between these two voltages.

The typical characteristics graph for Enable gives a better picture. We spec Enable this way to account for temperature variation. Typical turn-on will be around 0.7V to 0.85V.

We don’t specify the smart enable resistor disconnect time.

    Best,

    Juliette

  • Thank you for your reply.
    Last question.
Is there a possibility that the actual turn-on point (0.7V to 0.85V) can vary greatly depending on the lot?
    Best regards,

  • Technically it would be able to vary from (0.3-1.1], but that would not be typical or expected.

We would expect it to stay close to the values charted on the typical characteristics figure, so 0.7-0.85, depending on the junction temperature of the pin.

    Best,

    Juliette
