TPS3825-Q1: TPS3825-Q1: Regarding the TPS3825-33QDBVRQ1 RESET IC IOH & IOL issue

Part Number: TPS3825-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL7759, TPS3825

Dear Sir:

Regarding the TPS3825-33QDBVRQ1 RESET IC IOH & IOL issue

1. How many uA of IOL(min)?

2. How many uA of IOL(min)?

Please check to reply it asap.

Thanks

  • Hi Vincent,

Which datasheet you are looking for?  TPS3825-Q1 or TL7759?

    Regards,

    Sila Atalar

  • Hi Vincent, I checked with my team and TPS3825 does not require min current for operation. Feel free to use larger resistor for your application if needed.

  • Dear Sir:

According to the circuit design requirement.

The device side needs the pull-down resistor and connect to RESET pin.

We need the RESET pin IOL(min) leakage current to calculate the maxium Pull down resistor.

Please check to provide it asap.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Vincent,

TPS3825-Q1 has push-pull output, therefore there is no need pull-up or pull-down resistor. As mentioned, TPS3825 does not require min current for operation.

  • Dear Sir:

1.The device side is NMOS. NMOS has a pull down resistor to keep the low level to avoid the floating when the TPS3825 power off.

2.TPS3825-Q1 doesn’t have IOL leakage current?

Is IOL leakage current around 1uA?

Please check to reply it asap.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Vincent,

For leakage current I need to check with the design team. I'll get back to you with a feedback by Wednesday.

  • Hi Vincent,

I checked with our design team, and I learned that  RESET and RESET_ pins can directly drive a  CMOS/TTL input of the downstream device (MCU, etc), and specify the MAX IOL, IOH to ensure the VOL, VOH.

    So to be clear:

    - If the RESET, RESET_ pin  has a resistor to ground, and there is no power/VDD to TPS3825, then there will be No leakage on RESET, RESET_

    - If VDD to TPS3825 is powered then, If you do have a load the RESET and RESET_ pins with a resistor, you should not violate the IOL, IOH spec (which will guarantee VOL, VOH).

And also I think it could be good if you could share some schematic and more information on " the device side" needs you mentioned earlier, so everything would be more clear for both of us.

    Best Regards,

    Sila Atalar
