TPS2549-Q1: Consultation on short circuit related issues

Part Number: TPS2549-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2549

Hi team,

According to the description in the datasheet, the 2549 has Vbus short-circuit protection, but instead of cutting off the output, it turns the output into a constant current output. This will cause the chip to overheat. The chip will not be shut down until the action protection temperature threshold is reached.

The question we want to confirm is
1. When an external short circuit of 2549 is detected, the EN of 2549 must be turned off.
2. Is there any chance that the chip will be burned if it is not turned off?
3. Look at the picture below in the specification book. This is the VBUS short-circuit waveform to ground. It is not the constant current output mentioned in the short-circuit protection. What is the test scenario in this picture? Does it conflict with the description in the short-circuit protection chapter?

4. Others Is there any precedent for using EN independently in customer applications?
