UC2950: High-side drives Pch, low-side drives Nch

Part Number: UC2950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27624, UC3708, UC3709

Hi,

Do you have a half-bridge gate driver that meets the following criteria? I searched TI HP, but I could only find a product that drives two Nch Switches.

[Conditions]

・VCC: Maximum rating of 35V or more
・HIgh-side: Drives Pch MOSFET
・Low-side: Drives Nch MOSFET
・Peak current: 500mA or more

Best Regards,

Nishie

  • Hi Nishie-san,

For a PMOS/NMOS bridge, you usually need a low-side driver, since the driver can be referenced to ground. a half-bridge driver has level-shifting designed to drive an NMOS.

Our only low-side driver explicitly designed to drive PMOS is LM5111-4. Its UVLO is configured to pull the output high so the PMOS is disabled in a fault condition. However, it does not meet your voltage condition.

A new driver that may work is UCC27624, which is rated up to 26V recommended.

Lastly, some of the older products like UC3709 or UC3708 technically meet all of the requirements, but they can be pricier due to the old age and and process.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
