BQ40Z50-R2: Different FW versions

Hello,

My customer has a question on the different versions of BQ40Z50 device. The r3 TRM shows the change list from r2. The r4 TRM it says the rev jumps from r2 to r4 directly and the r5 TRM is changed from r4. Some questions:

Is r3 still supported by TI?
What is the reason that r4 skipped r3? Is there any significant issue in r3?
Is the r5 currently recommended for new design? How stable is it?

Apologies for delay. BQ40z5-R3 is supported on ti.com, see below:

And finally, we always recommend the latest FW version, in this case -R5, for best performance.
