TPSI3050-Q1: VDRV output voltage abnormal

Part Number: TPSI3050-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSI3050,

Hi Team,

My customer use TPSI3050 with 3 wire mode, and they connect EN pin to MCU, customer found if they disconnect the EN pin of TPSI3050 with MCU, then the MCU GPIO output is 5V, when connect the MCU GPIO with EN pin, then, the EN pin voltage would drop to 4.1V, is this normal? And with EN=4.1V, customer test VDDH=10.2V, but VDRV=8.3V, could you please kindly help to check if the EN=4.1v would has effect to the VDRV pin voltage? Any other comments from your side for customer problem? Thanks a lot for your support.

Best regards

Jie

  • Hello Jie,

Can you please share a schematic of the customer's system? Please also provide the part number of any transistors connected to VDRV. All the behavior you described here is abnormal for the TPSI3050-Q1.

    • EN does not consume current in 3-wire mode so the pin dropping to 4.1-V does not make sense
    • When EN exceeds 0.5*VDDP (so 2.5-V), VDDH is connected to VDRV. So VDDH = 10.2-V while VDRV = 8.3-V also does not make sense

Sounds like there are loads (maybe resistors) that are not being described.

    Best regards,
