Looking for 48Vin to 54Vout@3A reference design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5036, PMP40500

Hi Team,

We are looking for 48Vin to 54Vout/3A reference design for PoE application. (isolation is needed)

Please recommend our reference design if we have close one.

Regards,

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

Based on the parameters you laid out here, I would recommend looking into a push-pull or half bridge topology.

We have two devices that could serve this application well: the UCC2808-X family of push-pull controllers, and the LM5036 half bridge controller.

The closest reference design I found with the LM5036 is PMP40500. The parameters are not the same as you provided, but it can be a good reference of how to start designing with this part.

TI offers this TI Power Stage Designer as a free TI sim tool for topology selection. You can also use our Reference Design Database to filter a search with the parameters and keywords you desire to find another reference design in addition to the one I recommended.

    Cole

  • Hi Cole,

Thanks, I have search close reference design we have from our database on TI.com. But don't have suitable one.

I would like to share similar design we have to customer, so that they can meet their design schedule.

Please suggest close solution we have. Or send it to me by mail.

    Thanks,

    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

Here are two more reference designs that I found that I believe are most similar to your requirements.

    https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP7451

    https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP9127

These are also not exact, but I only have access to the reference designs on the TI database. I would recommend using Webench as another resource to help you get started with a design. It asks for parameters and will generate a whole design that fits the parameters.

    Regards,

    Cole
