TPS7H2221-SEP: Need more details on the ON control pin specs for this part.

Part Number: TPS7H2221-SEP

Does the input ON control pin on this part has a schmitt trigger or hysteresis built-in? Can an analog voltage signal with slow slope be used for the input ON control pin or does it have to be a digital logic signal? I could not find anything on the Datasheet of the part, but I did find on the EVAL board document https://www.ti.com/tool/TPS7H2221EVM the part was tested using the VIN also as the input ON control signal. Thanks. -eh

  • Hi Emanuel,

The hysteresis for the enable pin (ON) of the TPS7H2221-SEP is rated in the datasheet electrical characteristics table under the "Enable Pin (ON)" section on page 5 as shown below.

The spec you are looking for is VIH,ON (ON Pin Input High (VIH Rising)) and VIL,ON (ON Pin Input Low (VIL Falling)).

An analog signal with a low slope can be used for the ON signal of the device, as long as the pin is not left floating.

    Thanks,

    Andy
