BQ2970: Over Current/Short Circuit Protection

Hello,

I need to design a Hand Held device which uses a Battery charging Deck for charging and Battery charger IC inside the device.My plan is to use BQ29700DSER as a overcurrent/short circuit protection within a charging Dock.Can we use this IC to use with separate battery charger IC?

Yes, you can use the bq2970 paired with a separate charger IC. We have several reference designs that you can find on the product page that show this device paired with a charger IC for you to use as reference.
