May I know how I estimate Tj by using effective RθJa? Based on the Tj calculation in spra953c.pdf, calculated Tj exceeds absolute maximum rating of Tj of TPS56837.
Customer's use case:
Vin: 24V
Vout: 12V
Iout: 8A
Ambient temperature: 50℃
Switching frequency: 500kHz

The equation is right. But Power in the equation is IC power loss, should be total power loss minus inductor loss. Have you considered inductor power loss?
To be honest, 50C high ambient temperature, 12Vout 8A high output power, device thermal may be not very good.
I used webench to simulate Tj, about 115.09C.
