UCC39002: UCC 39002 load-share

Part Number: UCC39002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC29002

Hi,

I'm reviewing ucc39002 and ucc29002 for load sharing 2x supplies 48V outputs, 5A output each, and have a couple of questions:

What what are differences between ucc39002 and ucc29002 besides packages ?

Is there models and/or software tool for simulating 2 power supplies in parallel for load sharing?

Thanks,

Tim

  • Hello Timothy,

Thank you for your interest in the UCC29002 load-share family of controllers.

39002 and 29002 does not distinguish package differences.  The part number suffix (D, DGK, or P) determines the package, as listed in teh Package Option Addendum on page 24 of the datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/ucc29002 .  Note that the "P" suffix (for PDIP) is in a Life-time Buy status, which means this package will be discontinued in about a year.

The 2 and 3 denote the operating temperature range over which the Electrical Characteristic parameters are guaranteed.
UCC39002 parameters are guaranteed over 0C to 70C range, while UCC29002 parameters are guaranteed over -40C to +105C range.

At this time, there are no models available for simulation of this device.
An Excel Design Tool is available here: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SLUC684.
