The thermal images from the TPS56221EVM (Figure 9-12) - https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvu446b/slvu446b.pdf#page=18 were taken at 25C ambient lab temperature in a free-air natural convection environment (No forced airflow) with greater than 30 minutes continuous 14V to 1V @ 25A steady-state operational time to allow the device and board to reach thermal equilibrium.
