LM63635-Q1: FPWM will not be entered during the startup process.

Part Number: LM63635-Q1

Hi team,

FPWM will not be entered during the startup process. What is the purpose of this design?
If MODE/SYNC intervention is used to select FPWM, will it be effective?

  • + QUESTION:

During the soft start process, will the sync/mode signal pull-up selection FPWM affect this process? Will the rule that the ss stage in DS cannot enter FPWM be maintained?

  • Hi Alan,

The feature is introduced to cover the case when the circuit's output is prebiased, namely having voltages. It can be residual voltage from last power on,  or can be voltage supplied by other circuit.  If FPWM is not disabled during startup, there will be a huge back-flow current from the output to the input.

No matter the SYNC/MODE connections, the circuit will not operate in FPWM during startup.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards,

    Youhao
