Hi,

Please check with TI if I need the battery charging status:

- Battery voltage level

- Battery capacity level (value or percent)

Can this info imported from the charger IC?

At the BQR24030 CE pin should connect to both AC input and USB input (with shcotkey diodes) – or there is other option?

At the BQR24030 there are 2 pins STAT1 and STAT2 that gives the charging status (page 24 in the data sheet, table 2).

I do not see a status of regular charging.

If I need status of regular charging, and also status when charging goes to complete:

Let say led that blink fast when battery is almost empty and charging. As long as the battery advance in charging and capacity and voltage increasing the led blink slower and slower until its completely or on. Can I get this feature directly from the component?

If I connect those 2 pins directly to microprocessor input:

when its ON , the STAT pin is output=0 ?

When STAT pin is off , then what the MC pin will see? Do I need to tie the MC pin to Vcc?

Regarding the BQ24030 if the following:

- AC input 5V

- USB input 5V

- Single LI-IO battery (3.7-4.2 typical voltage)

What is the output voltage range at the out pins?

When VCC to charger is 5V, and the output connects to TPS63020DSJ, designed to Vout of 5V, will it affect on the output voltage, and how?

At TPS63020DSJ, when EN pin =0, then Vout is 0V?

Please read the data sheet and also look at the function block diagram. The information is in them.

The stat pins are open drain and need pull ups to indicate open drain (off).

The OUT regulates to 6V (for AC input) and just switches the input voltage through is less than 6V. No regulation on USB input to OUT pin (it should already be regulate to 5V).

The layers are:

TOP
GND – negative layer. The blank areas are cupper, lines – no cupper.
POWER - negative layer. The blank areas are cupper, lines – no cupper.

Please review on the power lines edit, the battery charger and the back bust switcher.

Device over view:

The device is portable that supply from inner pack of LI-PO battery, 2600mAh voltage between 4.2-3V .

The device has option of connecting to power adaptor 5V 2A (or more if needed) for charging and operation, and USB port for charging only and COM (5V 0.5A max).most time the device will work via inner battery supply.

At the device we use 3 voltages:

1. 5V , with maximum current consumption of 1.2A. the high consumption is for few seconds and then goes back to low current (100mA)

2. 3.3V with maximum consumption of 0.3A for components.

3. 3.3V for the main controller, 0.2A consumption. The controller need to control the other 5V and 3.3v supplies, can turn them on/off.

At average the system current consumption per hour: 10 minutes – approximately 1.8A; 50 minutes – less then 0.3A

Can you review the schematic (only page 7) include the TPS63020/73533 and the layout.
