REF3430: Short load behavior

Hello team,

What would be the behavior of this device, when the load is shorted to GND?

Will it try to output maximum current, and go thermal shutdown?

Is there any short circuit protection?

Hi Kei,

For the automotive versions of our devices we qualify a pin failure mode analysis. (https://www.ti.com/lit/fs/snva912a/snva912a.pdf?ts=1711126636647&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FREF34-Q1) In this pin FMA table 4-2 we see that by shorting output pins to ground a B failure effect class occurs, no device damage, but loss of functionality (no output voltage).
